The Power of Setting an Intention: A Sacred First Step in Your Journey

Before every Pranic Rebirth Journey, one-on-one session, or transformational event I offer, there’s one essential step I invite every participant to take—setting an intention.

It’s not just a formality or something to check off a list. Setting an intention is an act of sacred preparation. It’s the moment you pause, get honest with yourself, and declare to the Universe what you are ready to heal, experience, or embody. It’s the seed that anchors your journey before it even begins.

Why Setting an Intention Is So Powerful

An intention is more than just a goal or a wish. It's a conscious agreement with your highest self. When you take the time to name your intention, you’re…

  • Activating clarity: You bring your energy into focus instead of moving from a scattered place.

  • Inviting support: Whether spiritual, emotional, or energetic—intention opens a doorway for unseen forces to work with you.

  • Creating alignment: You begin to harmonize your inner world with the outer experience you're calling in.

  • Empowering yourself: You become an active co-creator in your transformation, not a passive participant.

People who have walked through my breathwork journeys or retreats often tell me that the simple act of writing an intention brought so much up before the work even started. That’s the beauty of it—it initiates the transformation.

How to Set an Intention

There’s no one “right” way to set an intention, but here are a few simple and soulful ways you can begin:

1. Get Still and Breathe

Before you write anything down, find a quiet space where you won’t be interrupted. Sit comfortably, close your eyes, and place one hand on your heart and the other on your belly.

Take 7 deep, intentional breaths, feeling your body rise and fall with each inhale and exhale. Let yourself drop in.

Then gently ask yourself:

What am I truly ready to let go of? What do I deeply want to call in? How do I want to feel on the other side of this journey?

Let your breath guide you to the answers. You don’t need to force anything—just listen.

2. Write from Your Heart, Not Your Head

Use “I am,” “I choose,” or “I allow” statements instead of “I want” or “I hope.” For example:

  • “I am ready to release what no longer serves me.”

  • “I choose to open my heart to love and trust again.”

  • “I allow my body, mind, and spirit to return to harmony.”

This speaks directly to your subconscious and the Universe in a powerful, affirmative way.

3. Keep It Simple and Clear

Your intention doesn’t have to be long. In fact, the most potent intentions are often short and direct. Think of it as a compass. You don’t need a map—just a direction.

4. Feel It

It’s not enough to just write it—feel it. Read it back to yourself and notice how it lands in your body. When your whole being says “yes,” you’ve found the one.

5. Return to It Often

Intentions grow stronger the more energy we give them. Personally, I like to read my intention letter every morning in the days leading up to a session or event. It helps me reconnect with my “why” and stay in alignment with what I’m calling in. You can do this for a few days, a few weeks, or as long as it feels supportive. The more you sit with your intention, the more alive it becomes in your body and in your life.

Sample Intention Letters

If you’ve never written an intention before, here are three different examples that focus on real, relatable themes. These are especially helpful for those preparing for a one-on-one Pranic Rebirth session.

1. Releasing Overwhelm & Finding Inner Peace

Dear Self,

I am ready to let go of the constant pressure I put on myself to always be doing more. I carry so much mental clutter, and it’s exhausting trying to keep up with everything. I want to quiet the noise in my head and reconnect with a deeper sense of peace and ease.

I set the intention to release the stress and overthinking that have been weighing me down. I want to breathe more fully, sleep more deeply, and feel more present in my body. I want to remember what it feels like to simply be—without rushing, without guilt, without needing to prove anything.

I am ready to slow down, soften, and come home to myself.

2. Healing Family Wounds & Reclaiming Self-Worth

Dear Self,

I’ve been carrying pain from my childhood and my relationship with my parents for far too long. I often feel like I’m not enough—like I have to work hard to earn love or validation. I can see how this still shows up in my relationships today, and I’m ready to shift that.

I set the intention to begin releasing the weight of the past and the story that I’m not lovable just as I am. I want to start trusting that I am worthy of being seen, supported, and loved—without conditions. I’m open to forgiving, not to forget, but so I can move forward.

I am ready to reclaim my power, my voice, and my truth.

With compassion,Your Name

3. Reconnecting With Purpose & Creative Expression

Dear Self,

Lately, I’ve felt disconnected from my purpose—like I’m just going through the motions. A part of me knows there’s more to life than this routine, but I’ve been afraid to listen. I’ve pushed aside my creativity and desires to keep things “safe,” but it’s time to remember who I am.

I set the intention to reconnect with what lights me up. I want to feel alive again—to express myself more freely, to play, to create, to listen to the quiet whispers of inspiration that I’ve been ignoring.

I am ready to awaken the part of me that feels fully alive and aligned.

A Final Word

If you’re preparing for a session with me—or attending an upcoming event—take this step seriously. Not because I ask you to, but because your soul is asking you to.

Intentions create containers. They help us hold ourselves when things get intense, unfamiliar, or beautifully expansive. And they remind us why we said yes in the first place.

So write your intention as a prayer, a promise, or a whisper to your future self. Then let the journey begin.
